Record the requested change
Write what is being added, removed, or replaced and why. Reference the affected deliverable or assumption from the existing scope.
Confirm whether the request is necessary for the original outcome or represents a new objective.
Show the complete effect
Estimate added fees, new third-party costs, schedule movement, dependencies, and any original work that will no longer be delivered.
If the effect cannot be estimated yet, price a short investigation instead of giving an unsupported fixed number.
Approve, schedule, and archive
Obtain written approval from the authorized client contact. Update the working plan and invoice schedule, then store the approval with the original scope.
Do not rely on a meeting memory. A short written record protects both sides and makes later project reviews faster.
